Former Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Downplays JCPOA Unrest

The former spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs downplayed the unrest surrounding the JCPOA.

Ramin Mehmanparast said we have rarely and unprecedentedly witnessed the explicit and public stances of Western officials towards our country, which is uncommon and rarely happens in their diplomacy.

These issues indicated that the Western side does not genuinely prioritize the JCPOA under normal circumstances.

If we want to have the upper hand, we naturally need to discourage the Western side from relying on economic pressures.

Both the Iranian side is willing for an agreement to be reached and restrictions to be lifted, and so are the Western parties.

There is still room for renewed negotiations and reaching a potential agreement, although it might be weaker compared to before.

Regarding the death of the JCPOA, I believe this is an American slogan; the JCPOA will never die as long as there is a foundation for international cooperation.
