France warned Tehran that it is just hours away from the activation of the snapback mechanism.
Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, in a statement released after his meeting with Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, mentioned the activation of the snapback mechanism and wrote that only a few hours remain for the Islamic Republic to respond to the legitimate conditions of European countries.
Macron wrote that he reiterated to the President of Iran the demands on which there will be no compromise. These demands include full access for International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to Iran, transparency regarding enriched material reserves, and the immediate resumption of negotiations.
He once again emphasized that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons.
Macron also wrote that he asked Masoud Pezeshkian to immediately release three foreign citizens, including Cécile Kohler, Jacques Paris, and Lennart Monterlos, who he said are arbitrarily detained in inhumane conditions in Iran.
