The President of France condemned the protests at the university in support of Palestinians

Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, strongly criticized the protest gatherings at the elite Sciences Po University and other universities in the country in support of Palestinians. He said he understands that the war in Gaza is shocking for people, but preventing discussion and dialogue has never helped resolve crises and conflicts.

In an interview with the newspapers La Provence and La Tribune Dimanche, Macron accused the protesters of resorting to violence and creating blockades in an attempt to impose their demands, and also of preventing Jewish students from entering the university.

Last Friday, May 3rd (14th of Ordibehesht), French police ended the sit-in of pro-Palestinian protesters in the courtyard of the Sciences Po University building in a relatively peaceful manner.
