French police thwarted an attack on one of the host stadiums of the Olympic Games

The French Interior Ministry announced on Friday, May 31, that an 18-year-old Chechen youth has been arrested for planning motivated attacks with Islamist motives on the Geoffroy Guichard football stadium in Saint-Etienne.

It has been said that this was the first thwarted malicious intent against the Olympic Games.

According to the statement of the French Interior Ministry, this man intended to attack spectators and police officers and be killed as a martyr.

Reports indicate that this individual was arrested on May 22, the second of Khordad.

The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11.
