The German Embassy in Tehran will resume reviewing Schengen visa applications starting January 6th.
The German Embassy in Tehran announced that from January 7, 2026, equivalent to the 17th of Dey 1404, they will resume accepting new applications for Schengen visas.
According to ISNA, based on an announcement posted on Monday, December 14th, on the embassy’s Instagram page, the company TLScotact, acting on behalf of this embassy, will open a new waiting list within the next 48 hours where applicants can register. The German Embassy in Tehran will also resume accepting new applications for Schengen visas from January 7, 2026, equivalent to the 17th of Dey 1404.
It has also been announced that applicants who already have a TLS account will automatically receive an email explaining how to register on the waiting list, and applicants who do not yet have a TLS account can create a new account.
In recent months, especially with the start of the 12-day war, the process of handling visa applications at the German Embassy has become more limited and, according to applicants, even more stringent. It is said that currently, the process of scheduling German visas in Tehran is accompanied by long queues and waiting times, causing problems for students and patients.
In a statement posted on its website, the German Embassy in Tehran confirmed that following the events of June 2025 in Iran, the 12-day war is operating in a limited capacity, and the embassy’s technical and personnel capacities have been significantly reduced.
