German Foreign Ministry: China attacked a German plane with a laser in the Red Sea

The German Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday, July 8, that a military aircraft of this country over the Red Sea, which was engaged in monitoring and supporting maritime traffic, was attacked by a Chinese laser.

According to the French news agency, in a statement by the German Foreign Ministry referring to the summoning of the Chinese ambassador in Berlin, it is stated that endangering the lives of German personnel and disrupting the operation is completely condemned.

This aircraft was involved in a European military operation to ensure the safety of shipping in the Red Sea.

Germany did not mention any potential damages to the aircraft or the operation.
