On Friday, May 4th, Germany’s Interior Ministry stated in a release that cyberattacks attributed to Russia’s military intelligence service GRU have targeted the ruling Social Democratic Party and the logistics sectors of Germany’s defense, aerospace, and information technology.
Germany’s Interior Ministry has pointed the finger at the APT28 group, associated with Russia’s military intelligence service, which has long exploited an unknown security flaw in Microsoft’s Outlook email.
Meanwhile, Germany’s Foreign Minister warned Russia on Friday that it will face consequences for these attacks.
