Ghalenoei needs 23 million dollars to play against Argentina

Amir Ghalenoei, the head coach of Iran’s national football team, said on Tuesday, January 19, regarding his plans after qualifying for the World Cup and friendly matches with the world’s top teams, that these teams are all high-level teams but there are a series of issues. For example, if we want to play against Argentina, we have to pay 32 million dollars.

Amir Ghalenoei emphasized that this has been our desire and added that we need to measure our level against big teams so that we can appear at the World Cup with better morale and fewer mistakes.

The head coach of Iran’s national football team stressed that we have provided this plan in advance so that after qualifying for the World Cup, the officials pursue arranging good matches during these FIFA days.

In 2024, Iran’s national football team achieved 18th place in the FIFA ranking after 19 years.

With the two victories in the qualifying round against North Korea and Kyrgyzstan, the Iranian team continued to lead Group A with 16 points and only needs 4 points from its next 4 games to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
