Google says it is investigating reports from Google Drive users claiming that their personal files have unexpectedly vanished from the cloud service

Today, Google confirmed this issue in a user forum within the support section. The company states that this problem has occurred for a limited number of Google Drive users on desktop

The technology giant identifies the problem as related to syncing versions 84000 to 84040 of Google Drive desktop

Currently, the forum discussing this issue has 192 users, some of whom are seeking a solution to recover their data

One user mentioned that even an IT expert couldn’t find any trace of the files
