Grossi called the state of cooperation between Iran and the Agency unacceptable

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, upon returning from his trip to Iran, described the state of cooperation between Iran and the Agency as unacceptable and called for a change in Iran’s approach.

Rafael Grossi, on Tuesday, May 8th, in a conversation with reporters in Vienna, also announced that the parties have reached a mutual understanding and Tehran has told him it is ready to work on specific actions.

He also said that there are three categories of issues: inspections, outstanding issues, and voluntary actions that Iran can undertake.

According to Mr. Grossi, Tehran also has expectations in return; for cooperation with Iran, many political issues, including the lifting of sanctions, are raised, which are very important for Tehran, but it is not within my power to resolve them. However, if Tehran truly cooperates with us, we can resolve the issues.

Meanwhile, a few hours earlier in Iran, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic and Mr. Grossi announced that they had reached an agreement to implement the cooperation document of March 2023.
