The Gulf Waterway Management Authority condemned the US sanctions

In response to the new US sanctions, the Gulf Waterway Management Authority condemned this action and considered it a sign of its own performance

In a statement, this authority announced that being sanctioned by a country whose president boasts about piracy is seen as a positive indicator of its performance

The statement further stated that the control over the Strait of Hormuz, which was not achieved in the field and diplomacy, will not be achieved through sanctions either

The Gulf Waterway Management Authority also emphasized that it will continue to review and issue passage permits for non-hostile vessels, and this process will continue without interruption

The US Treasury Department announced yesterday that it had sanctioned this authority due to what it called the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s attempts to generate revenue from the passage of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, and has also included all individuals and entities collaborating with it on the sanctions list

This authority was established after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the blockade of Iranian ports by the US, with the aim of coordinating and overseeing the passage of vessels
