Guterres: There is still time to prevent the activation of the snapback mechanism
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, emphasized that there is still an opportunity to prevent the implementation of the snapback mechanism against the Islamic Republic, referring to its potential activation.
He said he urges the Islamic Republic and other world powers to resort to diplomacy and create the necessary conditions for mutual trust to prevent the activation of this mechanism.
Guterres added that he has been in contact with both sides on this matter and has expressed his readiness to mediate, but he considered the success of these efforts dependent on diplomatic actions aimed at rebuilding the lost trust.
