A delegation from Hamas will soon travel to Egypt to continue negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza.
The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced in a statement on Friday that a delegation of its Palestinian Islamist group members will soon travel to Egypt for further discussions on the ceasefire in the Gaza war.
The statement mentioned that Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, in a phone call with Abbas Kamel, the head of Egypt’s intelligence apparatus, referred to the positive spirits of the group members in considering the ceasefire proposal.
Hamas announced on Saturday that they have received a reciprocal proposal from Israel and will review it before responding.
Egypt’s state-affiliated Cairo News Network, citing an anonymous high-ranking source in the country, announced that the Hamas delegation will arrive in Cairo in the next two days.
Hamas stated in the announcement that proactive negotiations are being conducted to reach an agreement that fulfills the aspirations of our people and puts an end to the aggressions.
