Hamas’ Reaction to Ceasefire Plan: Ready to Begin Agreement

Hamas says it has provided its response to the three-phase ceasefire plan in Gaza to the mediators. Qatar and Egypt, who, along with the United States, have mediated negotiations between Israel and Hamas, confirmed that Hamas has given its response. Hamas stated this response prioritizes the interests of our people, the Palestinians, and emphasizes the necessity of a complete halt to the ongoing attacks on Gaza.

Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official told the BBC that there is still a need for Israel’s commitment to a permanent ceasefire.

The proposed ceasefire plan, approved by the UN Security Council on Monday night, calls for a six-week ceasefire that eventually becomes permanent.

In its statement on Tuesday evening, Hamas called for a complete cessation of hostilities in Gaza.
