Hamshahri’s Attack on Ali Daei
Although Hamshahri newspaper reports that Daei claims to have learned freedom from Ayatollah Behjat, he seems to have forgotten how he commented on the thief of his jewelry and deemed forgiveness inappropriate.
Daei, who himself had said that one cannot forgive someone who holds a machete and blocks people’s path, now, to conform with the crowd, calls for the forgiveness of machete-wielders and those who block the way of people, women, and girls.
Now that the law is only respected by Daei and people like him when it benefits him and his family, one should not expect that during times when breaking the sanctity of the law brings prestige to some, this figure and others like him would not exploit this situation to their advantage.
