Harris’s lead on the day of her deputy’s introduction
Kamala Harris is now ahead in the polling averages tracked by several reputable sites, surpassing her opponent.
The Real Clear Politics site, which leans conservative and includes polls favoring Trump without evaluation, has finally shown Harris’s superiority. This is an interesting development as Harris has pulled ahead of her opponent in the averages of The Economist and several other reputable sites. It should be noted that The Economist and only one or two other sites specialize in expertly evaluating institutional polls. The key point is that polling averages vary with different prediction models.
There are two or three well-known and prominent modelers active in America, with Nate Silver perhaps being the most famous but not necessarily the best.
Nate Silver, who has long been separated from his famous site and platform, has updated his model and for the first time sees Harris as having a slightly better chance of winning. It remains to be seen how the polls will change after the introduction of Harris’s chosen deputy.
