Hassan Yazdani advances to the final

Hassan Yazdani has advanced to the final of the 86-kilogram freestyle wrestling competition at the 2024 Olympic Games with three victories.

Having won gold in the 2016 Olympics and being the runner-up in the 2020 Olympics, he will face Magomedmurad Gadzhiev from Bulgaria on Friday night for a chance to win the gold medal.

Yazdani first defeated Jitender of Australia 10-0 in the round of 16, then won 9-4 against Georgios Kourouglidis from Greece in the quarterfinals.

With 9 world and Olympic medals under his belt, securing his tenth, he defeated Amin Mirzazadeh from San Marino 7-1 in the semifinals to reach the final.

On the other side of the bracket, Aaron Brooks from the USA was leading against Gadzhiev until the final seconds when the Bulgarian wrestler turned the tables and won.
