The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization announced the imminent visit of Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to Iran.

On Wednesday, April 18, Mohammad Eslami said that unannounced inspections by the agency of Iran’s nuclear facilities are ongoing, and 120 approved inspectors from this monitoring body are stationed in or traveling to Iran.

Mr. Grossi also stated in an interview with CNN on Tuesday that he is preparing for a trip to Tehran, but the date of this visit has not been determined yet.

He recently also mentioned that we have inspections in Iran, but not at the level and depth necessary for the nature of the problem.

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency has long been trying to obtain answers from Iran regarding its secretive nuclear activities, especially the origin of uranium discovered at undeclared sites in the country. Iran has not clarified the origin of this uranium over the past three years.
