Islamic Head of the Atomic Energy Organization: The number of nuclear power plants in Iran will increase

The Head of the Atomic Energy Organization said that Iran, in alignment with other countries in the world, has taken fundamental steps to increase the number of power plants and nuclear electricity production capacity.

Mohammad Eslami, during a visit to the first unit of the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, stated regarding the amount of nuclear electricity produced at this plant, that over the past decade, 63 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity have been produced at the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.

He pointed out that nuclear electricity produced in nuclear power plants globally accounts for 11% of the share and mentioned that during the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference, it was decided that by 2050, the capacity for nuclear energy to produce global electricity should be tripled, and we have also taken fundamental steps to increase the number of nuclear power plants in our country.
