The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce also canceled Fridays off

The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce announced that the closure of businesses on Fridays has also been canceled.

The head of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce stated that the chambers of commerce made efforts to prevent the approval of the bill to increase closures, which was detrimental to businesses, with a national approach. After the rejection of Friday closures by the Guardian Council, the closure of businesses on Fridays was also canceled.

Mahmoud Najafi Arab, in today’s meeting of the representatives of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, said that the chambers of commerce made efforts to prevent the approval of the bill to increase closures, which was detrimental to businesses, with a national approach. Among these efforts, the initial position of the Chamber of Commerce was against increasing the number of closure days, especially the closure of businesses on Fridays, which, if implemented, could have irreparable consequences by reducing common working days with most countries to three days a week.

He stated that the Supreme Supervisory Council not only opposed the closure on Saturdays but was fundamentally against increasing weekly closures. It was also evident that the thirteenth government did not insist on pushing through its proposed bill to a conclusion.

Najafi Arab also emphasized in this meeting that Thursday is not part of the official holidays in the country and all government organizations and bodies are obligated to provide services, including commercial services.
