One-third of eligible voters in Tehran province cast their votes in the presidential election.
Abbas Jafari, the head of the Tehran province election headquarters, announced that the voter turnout in the presidential election in this province was 33%.
According to Mr. Jafari, the number of eligible voters in Tehran province was 10,199,742, with 3,366,264 votes cast, indicating a 33% participation rate.
The head of the Tehran province election headquarters also stated that 96% of the votes in this province were valid, with less than 4% being invalid, but he did not disclose the exact number of invalid votes.
He announced the election results in Tehran province as follows:
Masoud Pezeshkian received 1,492,164 votes, equivalent to 40% of the votes. Saeed Jalili received 1,165,518 votes, equivalent to 5% of the votes. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf received 673,000 votes, equivalent to 20% of the votes. Mostafa Pourmohammadi received 35,582 votes, equivalent to 1% of the votes.
Meanwhile, Hadi Tahan Nazif, the spokesperson for the Guardian Council, stated today that the validity of the first round of the presidential election has been confirmed.
