In the past five days, 177 people have died in accidents, says head of traffic police

In the past five days, 177 people lost their lives in traffic accidents, according to the head of traffic police.

The head of traffic police stated that in the past 5 days, 177 people lost their lives in accidents and 6200 people were injured.

Commander Seyed Timur Hosseini, the head of traffic police, mentioned that the Nowruz traffic plan has practically started in collaboration with other agencies since the month of Esfand.

He added that over 87,000 personnel from hardworking agencies such as the Red Crescent Road Rescue, and roadside assistance, are providing services nationwide alongside the police without any issues so far.

He continued by explaining that due to harsh weather conditions, some roads had specific difficulties that made traffic impossible, leading to closures, but they were eventually reopened.
