Head of Environmental Organization claims the reduction of Lake Urmia's level is a lie

The head of the Environmental Organization claims that the reduction in the water level of Lake Urmia is a lie.

The head of the Environmental Organization announced an increase in the water level of Lake Urmia in the current year compared to Khordad of 1400.

Ali Salajegheh reacted to some news based on the statistics attributed to the Lake Urmia Restoration Headquarters regarding the water level of Lake Urmia, stating that the statistics circulated on social media by environmental supporters are purely false. The latest statistics announced yesterday show that the water level of the lake has increased compared to June 6, 1400.

The head of the Environmental Protection Organization concluded that the current situation of Lake Urmia is suitable and acceptable, and the declining trend has been halted. This is mostly due to the operational efforts of colleagues in the organization, especially the Maritime and Wetlands Deputy, including preventing illegal fishing, releasing water rights, and using wastewater treatment plants in Urmia and Tabriz. It is hoped that the situation will further improve.
