The head of Hamas’ political office traveled to Tehran.
Hours after the release of Hamas’ statement rejecting a new agreement proposal with Israel, the head of the political office of this group traveled to Tehran to meet with Iranian authorities.
Hamas announced in its statement on Tuesday night that it had informed intermediaries that it is committed to its previous position and approach, as presented two weeks ago, and that Israel’s responses to the mediators’ proposal do not meet any of Hamas’ demands.
The group added in its statement that it demands a complete cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the return of refugees, and a real prisoner exchange.
In its statement, the group blamed the Israeli Prime Minister and his hardline government for the complete failure of efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
