Highly confidential letter from the IRGC commander to Raisi: Shut down the internet and social networks.

Based on a newly leaked highly confidential letter, part of a series of confidential documents and correspondences between the leaders and commanders of the Islamic Republic during last year’s protests, the IRGC commander explicitly described the internet, social networks, and cyberspace as a toxic environment for the regime and requested the Islamic President to shut them down.

The letter from Hossein Salami to Ebrahim Raisi was sent on December 11, 2022, and its text was published on Tuesday, June 27, by the hacking group ‘Uprising until Overthrow’ on their Telegram channel.

In this letter, Mr. Salami wrote that following the occurrence of security conditions, the entry into this toxic environment must be permanently blocked as the first step.
