Dr. Hossein Karampour, the head of the Medical Coordination Council of Hormozgan Province, in a letter he wrote yesterday to the head of the country’s Medical System, has requested clarification regarding the cause of Mahsa Amini’s death. Part of this letter states:

The bleeding from the ears and bruising under Mahsa Amini’s eyes do not match the reasons provided by some organizations, which have declared the cause as a heart attack. Most of the symptoms seen in the photos taken during her hospitalization are more consistent with symptoms related to head trauma and the resulting bleeding.
