Hossein Shariatmadari: Not participating in the elections is aligning with the enemy

The editor-in-chief of Kayhan newspaper said, let me be clear that turning away from the ballot box and not participating in the elections is aligning with the enemy and counter-revolutionaries, an enemy that has mobilized all its resources to prevent people from participating in the elections.

Shariatmadari added that right now, the number of those who have been approved for candidacy is more than 15,000, meaning there are about fifty-one candidates for each parliamentary seat, and they come from all parties and groups. Therefore, there is an opportunity, but the fear of not getting votes should not be mistaken for a lack of candidates.

He continued, let me be clear that turning away from the ballot box and not participating in the elections is aligning with the enemy and counter-revolutionaries, an enemy that has mobilized all its resources to prevent people from participating in the elections and brings up various excuses to achieve its goals. Therefore, not participating in the elections, as General Soleimani said, is opening a path for the enemy.
