The Hungarian ambassador was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
On Tuesday, November 20, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran summoned the Hungarian ambassador in protest against the new sanctions imposed by the European Union and the United Kingdom. Hungary currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
According to the state news agency IRNA, the Director General for Western Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic described these sanctions as illegal and unjustified during the meeting, considering them contrary to international law and disruptive to the principle of freedom of navigation and maritime trade.
Majid Nili once again denied reports of ballistic missiles being sent to Russia and stated that the legitimate cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran with other countries in the defense and security sectors is not against any third party.
Yesterday, the European Union and the United Kingdom imposed new sanctions against Iranian shipping and announced that these restrictive measures also target one Iranian individual and three other entities.
