In just one week, 178 people lost their lives due to accidents.

According to the statistics recorded in the special incident registration system, 578 special incidents were registered in the first week of Ordibehesht 1403, which shows a 31% increase compared to the previous week from 25th to 31st Farvardin.

Babak Yektaparest, the spokesperson for the National Emergency Organization, in a conversation with ILNA news agency, attributed 158 of these incidents to traffic accidents and 420 to special non-traffic incidents.

The spokesperson for the National Emergency Organization also reported that 178 people died due to the severity of their injuries during the mentioned period.

According to the published statistics, the highest number of special traffic incidents belonged to Khorasan Razavi province with 16 incidents, followed by Tehran and Kerman provinces with 14 incidents each. Tehran province, with 47 injuries and 7 fatalities, ranked second on this list compared to Kerman province with 85 injuries and 2 fatalities.

The increase in the production of low-quality vehicles, human errors, and the country’s dangerous and unsafe roads play a significant role in the upward surge of these statistics.
