India warns its citizens to leave Iran amid escalating tensions
The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a message on social media urging its nationals to leave Iran under the current circumstances. The notice states that, given the evolving situation in Iran, citizens currently in the country are advised to exit by any means possible, including commercial flights.
The diplomatic mission further emphasized that all Indian citizens and people of Indian origin should exercise caution, avoid marches and protests, maintain contact with the Indian Embassy in Iran, and follow local media for updates on developments.
This advisory comes amid growing concerns over the potential for war between Iran and the United States in recent days. Before India, countries like Sweden, Serbia, Poland, and Australia had also advised their citizens to leave Iran.
According to estimates by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, about 10,000 Indian nationals currently reside in Iran.
