Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Israel focuses on expanding defense and trade cooperation
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Israel on Wednesday, February 25th, March 6th, aiming to expand bilateral relations.
The spokesperson for the Indian government has announced that this visit is aimed at strengthening relations with Israel as an important trade and defense partner, while also balancing with Delhi’s broader diplomatic interests in the Middle East.
In recent years, India has expanded its cooperation with Israel in the fields of defense, agriculture, technology, and cybersecurity. The Adani Group, one of India’s largest companies, manages the Port of Haifa. Additionally, Israeli military drone technology played a pivotal role in the May 2025 conflict between India and Pakistan.
At the same time, India maintains close relations with the Gulf countries and Iran and is involved in the development of the Chabahar port. The country also has established diplomatic and trade relations with Taliban officials.
