Iran and U.S. talks in Doha to be held indirectly

An Iranian source told the newspaper Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that the talks between Iran and the U.S. in the new round of negotiations in Doha will be conducted indirectly through a Qatari mediator.

The source confirmed that one of the Iranian Deputy Foreign Ministers, Abbas Araghchi, is present in Doha to facilitate communication with the Qatari mediator.

These negotiations are to be held one day after intensive talks between the Qatari delegation and Iranian officials in Tehran, talks which, according to the source, have paved the way for progress in the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.

The new round of talks is set to resume with Qatar’s mediation, and the delegations from both sides will communicate with each other through the Qatari intermediary.
