Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Faced Global Outage

Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp faced a global disruption.

Three major social networks and messaging apps, namely Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, experienced disruptions for a few minutes on Thursday evening, with the cause reported to be a definite issue at their parent company’s headquarters, Meta.

The disruption occurred on Thursday, April 15, around 21:30 Tehran time and quickly forced thousands of users of these apps to express their frustration and complaints on other networks like Twitter, Telegram, and TikTok, discussing the matter. Meta announced shortly after that the disruption in Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, as well as the messaging app, had been resolved, but on Thursday night, many users still reported difficulties accessing them.

In addition to the UK, where thousands of users reported being unable to access their apps, around 3,500 users in India and another 7,000 users in Brazil also wrote about similar disruptions.
