Institute of Geophysics, University of Tehran, Shakes Ravar County in Kerman Province with Earthquake

The Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran reported an earthquake in Ravar County, Kerman Province.

Iranian media have reported that an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 shook Ravar County in Kerman Province, Iran, this morning.

The Geophysics Institute of the University of Tehran reported the time of this earthquake as 4:37 AM Iran time.

The depth of this earthquake was reported to be 10 kilometers underground and 33 kilometers away from Ravar.

According to ISNA, Reza Abbasi, the governor of Ravar, said that based on the conducted assessments, the Ravar earthquake has not caused any casualties or financial damages so far.

Mr. Abbasi stated that three evaluation teams from the Red Crescent have also been dispatched to the villages east of Ravar and near the earthquake’s epicenter to assess potential damages.

The governor of Ravar County further stated that all Red Crescent bases in the province have been put on alert.
