The interim president of Venezuela called the oil agreement with the United States historic.
Delcy Rodriguez, the interim president of Venezuela, confirmed the oil agreement with the United States and said that this agreement could bring more than 100 billion dollars in investment and 209 billion dollars in tax revenue for Venezuela.
Donald Trump had previously called this agreement the largest oil deal in world history and stated that Washington, based on it, would gain control over a major portion of Venezuela’s 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves.
This agreement was announced at a time when the U.S.-Iran conflict has disrupted global oil supply, and the rise in gasoline prices has become one of Trump’s political challenges on the eve of the midterm elections.
However, the details of how the transfer or control of Venezuela’s oil reserves to the United States will take place have not yet been clarified.
