Internet shutdown in Iran will continue

Fatemeh Mohajerani, the government spokesperson, has told some media activists that international internet will not be available to users at least until before Nowruz 1405 (March 2026).

Filterban has reported an unprecedented process of digital communication restrictions in the Islamic Republic, which is being implemented step by step under a project known as absolute internet isolation.

According to Filterban, the ultimate goal of this project is to turn access to international internet into a special security privilege for officials and organizations with specific licenses.
