Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency is installing more centrifuges at the Fordo enrichment plant.
Reuters reported on Friday, June 14, citing an International Atomic Energy Agency report, that Iran has rapidly installed more centrifuges in response to the Security Council resolution at the Fordo facility.
Earlier, the same news agency reported, citing diplomats, that Tehran had expanded its uranium enrichment capacity at two underground sites in response to this resolution.
According to the agency’s report, which Reuters has seen, Iran informed the agency on June 9 and 10 that eight cascades containing 174 IR-6 centrifuges will be installed in the next three to four weeks at Unit 1 of the Fordo enrichment facility.
The confidential report from the International Atomic Energy Agency was sent to member countries of this organization on Friday.
According to the agency’s report, Iran completed two new cascades of IR-6 centrifuges by June 12.
