Iran, China, and Russia Ambassadors Met with Grossi

The ambassadors of Iran, China, and Russia met with Grossi

The permanent representatives of Iran, China, and Russia at the International Atomic Energy Agency met and discussed with Rafael Grossi, the Director General of the Agency, ahead of the Board of Governors meeting.

Iran’s representation in Vienna announced, by releasing a picture of the meeting, that the parties exchanged views on issues related to the agenda of the upcoming Board of Governors meeting.

This meeting took place hours after the release of a new report by the Agency on Iran’s nuclear program, a report that expressed concern over continued restrictions on the Agency inspectors’ access to certain Iranian nuclear facilities and the status of enriched uranium reserves.

In this report, the Agency has asked Iran to resume cooperation and constructive engagement with the Agency to fully implement its safeguards obligations.

Next week’s Board of Governors meeting will be the first session of this body following the recent conflict between Iran and the United States and Israel, and it is expected that Iran’s nuclear dossier will be one of its main focuses.
