Iran has condemned the United States government to pay 420 million dollars.

Branch 55 of the Tehran International Court of Justice has condemned the United States government to pay 420 million dollars for trespassing on Iranian soil in the Tabas desert and causing material and spiritual damages.

Based on this, Branch 55 of the Tehran International Court of Justice, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity and the Law on the Jurisdiction of Iranian Courts approved in 1390, has issued a verdict of condemnation for the joint payment of 140 million dollars, equivalent to 10 million dollars for each claimant, for the incurred material and spiritual damages.

Operation Eagle Claw, also known as Operation Tabas, was a military operation carried out by the Delta Force of the United States Army on 5th Ordibehesht 1359 (April 24, 1980) to free the American hostages held at the United States Embassy in Tehran. This operation was the first operational experience of the Delta Force.
