Iran introduced as the biggest international threat to the US elections

Iran has been identified as the biggest international threat to the US elections.

A recent Axios report on the analysis of Iran’s cyber activities to interfere in the US elections reveals that Iran, out of three adversarial countries previously identified as threats to the security and social fabric of the US and the integrity of its elections, is now considered the biggest threat. Recent events and reports of hacking into the campaign systems of two US election rivals, especially after the Federal Police informed the Harris campaign that they, like the Trump campaign, were targeted by Iranian hackers, have changed the equations.

A formal report from the US National Intelligence Director, released with a hundred days left until the elections, which had a general narrative of secrecy and was leaked, referred to Iran, China, and Russia’s plans to interfere in the elections and create tension in the US.

Now these analyses and estimates have changed, with Iran being the sole serious threat. A former senior FBI official has gone further and warned that Iran is concretely executing Russia’s 2016 plans to interfere in the US elections for this year’s elections.

One of the biggest and most important dimensions of this strange adventure is the miscalculations of the Iranian system that seem to have occurred.

Apparently, the extensive dimensions of the activities of US cybersecurity organizations have not been taken into account in these calculations, a structure that Biden created at the beginning of his presidency to prevent the repetition of the events of 2016. The structure for identifying cyber intrusion networks has been established, and America’s counterattacks have been very intense in many cases.

Some important Iranian hackers have been identified in advance and, apart from the cyber attacks imposed on them, which have not been publicly disclosed, they have been officially accused and have no way out of Iran forever.

The cyber attack on the central bank a few days ago, which was officially denied, was not random.
