Iran Khodro’s Strange Product: The World’s First Fully Electric Car with an Exhaust

Rira is the latest production of Iran Khodro, currently in the final testing and evaluation phase before entering the market. Yesterday, at the automotive industry transformation exhibition, the electric Rira was unveiled, marking the first time globally that an exhaust pipe has been used in the production of an electric car.

Although Iran Khodro claims to have presented the electric version to the public, the front grille has been removed, and clean car stickers are visible all over it. However, two chrome exhaust outlets can be seen at the bottom of the bumper, exactly like the gasoline version, leaving one to wonder why an electric car would need exhaust outlets.
