The Iranian national football team departed Turkey for Mexico.
The national team, which will be traveling for 20 hours, had a 15-day training camp in Turkey.
A few hours ago, the Iranian Football Federation criticized the U.S. government for not issuing visas to some members of the national team traveling to the World Cup, accusing it of discriminatory behavior. The federation accused the U.S. of extending its hostile actions against the Iranian people to the sports arena, effectively denying the Iranian national team equal conditions and the opportunity to compete without discrimination.
The U.S. State Department stated that visas were only issued to the players and essential staff of the Iranian national team.
According to Iranian media reports, more than 10 members of the national team entourage have not received visas, including Mehdi Taj, Mehdi Mohammad Nabi, and Heydar Mombini, the president, vice president, and secretary-general of the Iranian federation.
The Iranian football team’s training sessions in this city are set to be held at the Tijuana Club sports complex.
