Iran's national women's handball team lost to the Netherlands in the World Championships

Iran’s national women’s handball team suffered a defeat against the Netherlands in the World Championships.

Iran’s national women’s handball team was defeated by Romania in their second game of the World Youth Championships.

Nasim Shafieian’s students conceded the result 33-15; however, Elnaz Yarmohammadi was introduced as the best player on the field as a goalkeeper.

Elaheh Nikan was the top scorer for Iran in this match with four goals, while Saeideh Ghazanfari scored three goals.

These competitions are held in the under-20 age group in the capital of North Macedonia, Skopje. Iran lost their first match 34-11 to the Netherlands at the Boris Trajkovski Stadium. In that match, Nastaran Farahani managed to score six goals alone against the Dutch goal.

Iran, as the fifth team in Asia, earned a spot in these competitions. They will face Brazil in their final preliminary stage match on Saturday.
