Iranian Media’s Objection to Kanani’s Verdict, Disciplinary Committee Gently Rebukes Kanani

Iranian media criticize the ruling on Kanaani, the disciplinary committee coddled Kanaani

The disciplinary committee of the Iranian Football Federation refrained from issuing a definitive suspension for Hossein Kanaani. After the match with Aluminium Arak, this player attacked young fans who were chanting ‘Hossein, the bus’ and assaulted one of them with punches and kicks.

The disciplinary committee, which issues definitive suspensions for offenses such as making accusations in interviews or verbally protesting to the match observer, did not suspend Kanaani from any matches. He only received a suspended one-match ban and a fine, and this ruling is also subject to appeal.

The Ana News Agency wrote that this is why football is regressing; no one is concerned with technical matters, the foundation is destroyed and ruined. The Jamaran website also questioned the disciplinary committee in the headline of its report, asking, ‘Are you serious?’

Varzesh 3 believes the disciplinary committee coddled Kanaani. Fars News wrote that he has surpassed 50 national team appearances, but at any moment he might display new unprofessional behavior. Kanaani’s series of violations are repeated with the leniency of the authorities.
