Iran national football team won with four goals against Hong Kong

Iran national football team won in the return match of the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a score of 4-2 against Hong Kong. Iran scored two goals in each half and conceded one goal.

Mehdi Taremi scored both of Iran’s goals in the first half from a penalty kick. He then managed to score a hat-trick in the second half, bringing his national team goal tally to 49.

Sardar Azmoun scored the fourth goal, which was his 53rd national team goal.

In the first half, Heung-Wai Ma, a 20-year-old host player, dribbled the ball past the needy-to-tour defense. In the second half, 18-year-old Anthony Pinto took advantage of Iran’s defensive confusion to score his team’s second goal.

Amir Ghalenoei’s students will face Uzbekistan in the last match of Group Five next Wednesday at Azadi Stadium to determine the group winner.
