Iranian beach soccer players have arrived in Brazil.

Iran’s national beach soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the World Cup with a 2-1 victory over the UAE. The UAE scored the first goal, but then Mohammad Masoumizadeh and Mehdi Mirjalili, the Iranian goalkeepers, managed to open the UAE’s goal.

The beautiful goals by Iranian goalkeepers in the World Cup have caught the attention and admiration of FIFA. In the previous match, Hamid Behzadpour and Mehdi Mirjalili scored three goals against Tahiti. Against the UAE, Mirjalili, in a difficult situation, surrendered his counterpart with his powerful shot.

Iran, by eliminating the host of the tournament, will face Brazil, the most prestigious team in the competition’s history, in the next stage for a chance to reach the final. The Brazilians have reached this stage by defeating Japan 8-4.
