Iran’s Basketball Victory Against Qatar

In the first match of the first window of the 2025 Asia Cup, Iran’s national basketball team defeated Qatar. In a close and thrilling game at the Mashhoon Hall, Iran overcame Qatar with a score of 76 to 74.

Qatar, with the brilliance of Babacar Dieng and Mike Lewis, was leading in the final minute, but a three-point shot by Mashayekhi with 39 seconds left gave Iran the advantage.

Arsalan Kazemi, Behnam Yakhchali, Sajjad Mashayekhi, Navid Rezaeifar, and Salar Manji were the starters for Iran in this match.

Yakhchali, who plays in the German second league, was named the best player of the match with 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Under the coaching of Turkish Hakan Demir, Iran will visit the Indian national basketball team on February 26 for their second match.
