Iran’s Foreign Minister: Complete cessation of cooperation with the Agency is not possible
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic, referring to the visit of the Deputy of the International Atomic Energy Agency to Tehran, said that in about a month it will be time to replace the fuel at the Bushehr power plant, and we cannot completely cut off cooperation with the Agency.
Abbas Araghchi, in an interview with IRNA television, said Mr. Aparo’s visit to Tehran was useful for a mutual understanding of the necessity to define a new framework for cooperation with the Agency, and after this visit, we documented and submitted our set of views regarding a possible modality based on the Parliament’s law.
Araghchi, stating that the return of the Agency’s inspectors will be possible based on the Parliament’s law, added that in about a month or a month and a half, it will be time to replace the fuel at the Bushehr power plant, and this fuel replacement must take place in the presence of the Agency’s inspectors. Therefore, inspectors must be present so we can carry out this task.
He emphasized that the Russian officials of the power plant also tell us to expedite this work so that we can carry it out; otherwise, according to the regulations, we cannot perform this task.
