The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry says the ship seized in the Strait of Hormuz belongs to Israel.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated regarding the seizure of a ship by Iran in recent days in the Strait of Hormuz that Iran, in the framework of protecting its national interests, naturally pays attention to all movements in the strategic Strait of Hormuz and prevents the violation of its sovereignty in this area.
The MSC Aris ship, flying the Portuguese flag, was seized by IRGC patrol forces in the Strait of Hormuz on April 13 and directed towards Iranian waters.
According to ISNA, Nasser Kanaani said in his press conference on Monday, April 15, that based on the information available to him so far, the ownership of this ship by Israel is confirmed.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry added that due to the violation of international regulations by this ship and its failure to adequately respond to the questions raised by the relevant Iranian authorities, the ship has been directed into Iranian territorial waters for investigation, and the matter related to it will be examined by the competent legal and judicial authorities, and appropriate decisions will be made based on the investigations.
