The Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the German ambassador in Tehran in protest of Germany’s destructive approaches regarding internal developments in Iran.
In recent weeks, German Foreign Minister Baerbock has repeatedly protested against the severe suppression and violence by expressing support for protesters in Iran. Today, she also stated that such violence cannot be without consequences and reiterated that the new European Union sanctions will target the core of the Revolutionary Guard.
Representatives from Germany and Iceland requested a special session from the United Nations Human Rights Council on Friday.
The United Nations Human Rights Council announced today that due to the worsening human rights situation in Iran, it will hold this special session in ten days, on November 24th.
